Health information has to be right, readable and honest about its limits. These are the rules every page on 206206 follows.
Sources we rely on
We base health content on government health agencies (such as the NIH, CDC, MedlinePlus, NHS and WHO), national and international medical societies and foundations (such as the International Osteoporosis Foundation, the Bone Health & Osteoporosis Foundation, the Royal Osteoporosis Society and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons), clinical guidelines such as those of the US Preventive Services Task Force, peer-reviewed research and established textbooks. Each guide lists its sources at the end and links key claims inline.
How we check facts
- Every number, threshold and recommendation is checked against the source it cites before publication.
- Where sources disagree, we say so and give a range instead of picking one.
- We avoid drug doses and brand names, and steer treatment decisions to a qualified clinician.
- Our tools state their method and limits on the page, and never present an estimate as a diagnosis.
Clinical review
We are building a panel of licensed health professionals to review guides in their specialty. Guides reviewed by a named clinician will show the reviewer's name, credentials and review date. Until then, guides are labeled as checked against their listed sources. Health professionals can apply to review.
Updates and corrections
Each guide shows the date it was last updated. We review guides at least once a year and sooner when guidelines change. If you spot an error, tell us; we fix confirmed errors promptly and note significant corrections on the page.
Use of AI tools
We may use AI tools to help with research, drafting, translation and code. People decide what is published, and every health claim is checked against a cited source before it goes live.
Advertising and sponsorship
Advertising and sponsorship pay for the site, but never decide what we write. Sponsored content is labeled, sponsors don't see or approve guides before publication, and listed providers can't change our health information. See our disclosure.
